save a life. adopt a shelter dog.

Gosh, I was just looking at some shelter sites. There are alot of dogs put to sleep every single day.

It just irks me that people surrender their dogs. There are people who buy dogs as gifts as a spare of the moment thing and once they realize having a dog is alot of work--they surrender their dogs. If you don't have the financial means of taking care of a dog, don't even bother buying one.

For the days I have worked at the pet hospital, Ive seen many unbelievable things that I couldnt even begin to explain. People arent willing to put down the money, to save/cure their pets. That gets under my skin. Then why bother having a pet?!??! I love my dog like he is my child, if he needed something and I didnt have the financial means of caring for him, gosh darn it--i would find a way. I rather have him in my life then without. Surrendering a dog or euthanizing them is an easy way out for owners. If some circumstances prevent you from caring for your dog, Please by all means try to find someone who will. Just don't discard them--and leave them at a shelter.

They depend on us to survive--if they cannot depend on us, who can they depend on.
